No Credit Limit On My Mobile
Can anyone help?
My husband got our son a mobile under contract with VODAFONE. After 26 days the phone was disabled not checking on his allowance (son is 17) he went way over his entitlement £518 over. Now the mobile is cut off unusable until the bill is paid. I cant understand how they can let it get to this amount without informing the owner.
I have asked Vodafone if we settle the bill can the contract be cancelled, they said "Yes if we pay them £400 for line rental. At this time the contract was up and running for 28 days.
Is there anything I can do? Please help

I'm surprised your surprised. As far as the network was concerned, it had a legally biding contract with an adult. Should that person pass it on to a family member without supervision, then why would you feel it was the network's fault? The phone wouldn't be blocked after 28 days because your son hadn't checked his allowance - more likely he har reached the maximum they were prepared to allow a new customer. You've not mentioned how the original charges were accrued... were they in excess of the bundle (contract) tariff - or was he accessing services that had premium charges?
You need to ensure the accuracy of the bill - there are times when so-called agreed bundles are not applied, (say, unlimited texts) and then you get charged for them when you shouldn't!
Go through the list and if your son was accessing chargeable services, why wasn't he told that everything wasn't 'free'? The answer, of course, is PAYG and it protects everyone from this situation!0
