NO I am not but bought from a uk seller who didnt advertise that the voucher were only valid in GB, therefore no use to anyone in NI.

So they are *only* valid in GB? Your original post says the vouchers are *not* valid in GB, hence all the confusion in this thread.

What are the vouchers for anyway?

OP is in GB if he is in NI - but he could travel to Eire and spend them there.

The question is though - how were they described on ebay?

NI isnt part of GB, but is part of UK.

so you live in NI which is part of Great Britain; vouchers valid in Great Britain - no problem.
You have sterling right, as opposed to euros - so you ARE in GB.

    What are they for?

  • NO, Northern Ireland isnt part of Great Britain.
Thats why your (if you have a British one) passport says United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

wow! and back to the original point!

First, see if anywhere on the listing you were told that the voucher would only be valid in GB and nopt the UK. If not so, then you have a case for item not correctly described. You can either claim with paypal or let the buyer know they listed it badly and they should refund you unless they want neg feedback.

If the buyer did list them correctly, then you really can't do much to get your money back besides relisting them or sending them off to a friend or relative as an xmas gift or visiting us in GB if you wanted to. (Obvioulsy depending on how much the vouchers are for). You may also be able to use them online- its worth checking with the retailer.

Also try asking the retailer (customer services) if they will honor the voucher for you, say you have been given them as a gift and really want to spend them... you may find they may let you spend them, especially if they think you will spend more, or it will get them customer loyalty.

I would read back on the lsting first, if the details are not correct- if its stated that its possible to use in NI and its not, then you have a claim. Thats your first port of call anyway.
