Bought vouchers, problem, need advice

I bought some money off vouchers on ebay this week.
Received them today, all ok until I read small print, ONLY valid in Great Britain.
As I live in NI that means the vouchers actually arent valid here.
Have e-mailed seller and he advises that it is my problem, I should have checked and to re-sell them myself.

Is there anything I can do? No mention was made in listing of any conditions or exceptions.

can you not use them in Eire? you are closer than most people would be in uk! but i would also contact ebay and ask if he has broken any listing rules

I dont live in Ireland, I live in Northern Ireland.
Great Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales.
United Kingdom consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Never seen a voucher yet that says only GB, they are usually for the UK.

I guess that if you purchased them from a GB seller and they refer to a GB retailer, then it would be a fair assumption that you could use them in GB.

The only thing I can suggest is tell the seller that you will leave negative feedback if he does not accept a return - some people are quite scared of this. Realistically, re-selling them yourself is probably the best bet (you could always just try it on with the store in question).

If they were from a non GB seller then I wouldn't expect that you have anywhere to go.

I didnt purchase them from a GB seller, unless there is now a Ebay GB Ididnt know about. I bought them from a UK seller on Ebay UK.
Therefore a fair assumption that they could be used in UK.

Not sure what peter the piper means, sorry.

So on that basis, you aren't IN GB... are you?

NO I am not but bought from a uk seller who didnt advertise that the voucher were only valid in GB, therefore no use to anyone in NI.

OP is in GB if he is in NI - but he could travel to Eire and spend them there.

The question is though - how were they described on ebay?

If they are not valid in GB, then they are valid somewhere that is NOT the GB.
You are somewhere that is NOT the GB.

Therefore, that makes them valid.
