Valiant Turbomaxpro boiler

Hi hope someone can help we have a valiant turbomaxpro boiler. This was fitted by the previous owner of the house so have no real idea on how it works. On the boiler there is a dial for the temp control of the radiators there are no numbers on this. All our radiators have dials on it numbers 1-5. My question is do I turn the radiators down rather than this dial on the boiler to reduce my consumptiom (SP) My house is big and lacks insulation so I have found keeping the dial on the boiler down means the house never heats up but am worried by turning this dial up I am actually costing us more money. My thoughts were if it is the radiators I need to control more then great as I do not need to have all the radiators in the house on nd can keep these ones to a min. Hope my questions make sense.

combination of both I suspect , get the boiler to a heat you want , around 62F , and then turn off radiators you don't use , and adjust those down in rooms where it is too hot .

I've the same boiler and getting cavity wall in the summer has made a BIG difference to the consumption
