  • Weve flown with both, I like Virgins entertainment system best, but BA's service, also staff seams to older with BA. But if i had to choose id go Virgin as BA always seem to be threatning industrial action of some sort round about the time we go.
My mind tends to wander............If found please return;)

    I can spell...................I just cant type:confused:

Completely agree, i have always said i would never ever ever fly BA around any public holiday. Id book with Punjab Airlines at Christmas before BA!

I think it is poor that BA do not allow you to pick your seats when you have paid in full for them.

Just to confirm, it is an A340-600 with Virgin? I'd swim rather than get on their A340-300s!
  • For what it's worth I prefer Virgin - better food and entertainment in my opinion.

When in LA consider staying at the Magic Castle hotel - just off the Hollywood Strip - one stop on the subway to Universal Studios - the highlight of it for my children was the free mini-bar - they can go down and get free sweets and drinks at any time - also lovely staff, rooms and swimming pool - I wasn't a huge fan of LA but I'd go back to stay at the Magic Castle without hesitation - sorry sounds like I'm advertising the place but look at reviews on tripadvisor and you'll see what I mean!

I would choose VS just for the Airbus. 747's have this fascination for people because they are big, but you spend 10 hours in cramped conditions with 400 other pax. and you get over that one pretty quickly!!! The A340 just seems sleeker and more spacious.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

i think the actual leg room is very close on both planes , agreed the airbus does feel more modern inside but dont expect oodles of legroom in economy on either

it woulndt make or break it for me either way , its gona suck sitting on either plane for 10+ hrs
  • If you're thinking of going to Yosemite and want to stay in the park you'd better get booking quick. Some places such as Yosemite Lodge can get booked up a year in advance.

My OH says she'd prefer John Travolta flying his own Boeing 707. :rotfl:
