Give them a call
I did but all they said was i have to write to the US or Luxembourg they could not give me a UK address.
I asked to talk to the manger, but apparently they do not take phone calls.
They cant even take the complaint over the phone.
That address is old, I just sent the complaint online if i dont get anywhere then i will send letters to most of the 3 possible addresses!
I hope they do something otherwise i will be well gutted.
Thanks optimist and d.edna0 -
so lets get this straight
the purchases were made via your paypal account and balance
so someone used your password/email?0 -
Ok, not sure I follow this at all. Are you saying that all the transactions were fraudulent, in which case you shouldn't be disputing each individually as under the old rules you only had two disputes a year. If you have compromised your paypal and email details (and goodness knows what else) then go back to paypal and explain that you have been hijacked and you need the fraud department to help you, not the disputes department.
Once paypal agree that a third party has hijacked your account they are quick to act, the threads on the ebay forum suggest that full restitution is often made in a matter of days or a couple of weeks at most. It is often easy for them to gather a 'picture' of likely use , or even IP's used to see a hacking pattern.
However, I am confused as you appear to have full access to your paypal and email, which implies that it hasn't been hacked but merely used without your permission. If a user has allowed third party access either to a 'trusted' person or by being careless , ie not fully logging out on a uni computer or at work for instance, they must take some responsibility and you may then find it more difficult to get anyone to agree that you were a completely innocent victim.
So a few questions please so that people can give you useful advice. The transactions, are they all made by a hijacker and did they manage to change your address successfully in paypal? If your address was changed then a confirmation email would have been sent to your registered email address..if you also 'lost' your email adress, didn't you notice that you had no access to that at all? If your address wasn't changed then it is possible that goods were sent to you, which would rather defeat the purpose of a hacker. Have you done a full and deep clean of your PC as compromising so many different passwords means that someone has a lot of access and it might be via a key logger.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Most of the transactions where for either a online service, or they where payments sent to someone.
about $1,000 was to a man in india! No transactions where to "buy" goods but just send payments to random people. I mainly use a public computer which shows that my IP on most transactions may be the same and thats why only 2 where decided in my favor.
They limited my account only today and said that it was because my account was access by a third party, i didn't think of asking for the fraud department but the women on the phone said that there was no-one else i could speak to about this. Yesterday i complained about why 7 where not decided in my favor and the nice man said he would re-submit them and it was very odd for paypal to accept 2 and refuse 7. And now i have a email saying that i abused there policies. and now all of them have been closed after complaining otherwise i would of got most or all in my favor, as one was decided in my favor before they "closed" them and said i was abusing there systems.
Now i am 100% sure there is a key logger on that computer, but how can i say that to them? i cant prove it can i?
I was surprised as well that i had access and so i changed my email address on the 2 october and password etc.
Now they simply are not taking notice of me, i dont know weather i should go to the bank about some of them, but as most where made by my balance i cant go to anyone else except for paypal.
The customer services is useless and costs alot over the phone.
I complained by email using the contact us now feature, I hope they reply soon with a resolution as i just cant wait that long for the payment!
The problem is, i know for a fact that they will ignore me as they now have the excuse of my "abusing" there policies. Which i clearly am not, i am simply reporting them to them!
There excuse for each dispute was, it was someone in my home or relative! . Well no-one in my house knows my information on paypal and i do not access on the computer (I will do soon!)
So as you can tell i am clearly gutted and i am just waiting for them to say "ok bye"
I had so much trust them and praised them to everyone, looks like paypal are clearly changing and now well i know it's partially my fault but they are not helping.0 -
any suggestions?0

What was the outcome of this? I am going thru the exact same situation and Paypal aren't being helpful.0 -
They decided it not in my favor and as such have just left it now. Cant be bothered.
There terms and conditions have them covered, It clearly says i needed to report it within a time limit, and i didnt apparently.
I have another account and that was used aswell and i got them all refunded so its weird, paypal have there good days and bad.
Its been over a month Sc85, anything good happen?0
