Tell me about skype on 3 mobiles

Hi

On 3 mobile (for better or worse:rotfl: ).

Thinking of giving DS my new phone as Xmas pressie (K530i) on P+G on 3 and carrying on with my old one.

How do I sort our skype and will it be free for me to skype him and him to skype me, or do we pay for internet access before we can get it to work? I have a contract (6m 300 M+M) and have the net add on already.

I'm a bit about never having got into skyping as a teccy fan so be gentle!

Its available on both M&M Plans and Payg. Your both need compatible phones to call each other K530i is ok ,your have to check to see if your old phone is.

Wow thanks! THat seems almost too good to be true! My curent phone is "skypeable" (6120c on M+M 300) so he really can ring me (and DH as he is on same deal) for free!

Must have a play with it.

It IS (too good to be true). It is not a service to be relied upon in any shape or form - and if there is high broadband activity in the area the phone is in, the voice service will be prone to drop outs and and all the usual horros of one-way calling, echo and the rest.

I've been using it for a year, and only have a 20% success rate using it.
