Hi I got one of these this morning - cardiff no. 029 2032 6787 - bit suss as I only rang them about 3 weeks ago to check they'd got my renewal (they had) and to check our info was correct??
  • How did you get on when you contacted Cardiff. I have received a letter this morning asking me to contact them. I only recevived my renewal confirmation on 5 August - I am a single parent and reading through the threads it seems to be those people they are targeting
  • I have received a letter from them today with a heading ''keeping you tax credits payments right is importand'' which I found quite worrying as I only spoke to them 3 weeks ago to update new childcare. The letter is quoting a number to call in Preston which I did constantly for half an hour with no reply. I called the normal tax cred number who said they couldn't help because it's a different department. I feel a little stressed over it.
  • I had the same letter with phone number 01253 503703, anyone else phoned that number and can give me any info, really stressed they might want to stop my money for some reason
  • Well I have rad everyones posts on here today and woner whether anyone has experienced this............On 27th April I informed the Tax Credit Office in a letter that i was ceasing work due to the health of my youngest child (hes 14). They have been continuing to pay me weekly since

Today I range them again....telling them that I ceased work on 9th May again due to my youngest child's health. They again are stating that they will pay me until my review pack arrives in a couple of weeks and when it does, I have to ring them and then the computer does its calculations. I mean are they going to make me repay even though I gave them two notices of circumstance changes. It's mad

You'll still get CTC, which might go up, and there's a 4-week run-on for WTC.

Although I've not had any of these letters, I know of quite a few who have, and they all seem to be people - single parents or couples - with children so we feel that TC may be doing random checks (or not so random if they're targetting an area) on people who claim childcare help, esp as the percentage has gone down now! Don't think anyone I know of is worried, but then they're doing things by the book anyway, sort of folks who don't even pinch pens from work IFSWIM!
