My favourite free apps/games on my touch 2g are:-

    --Apps--
Twitterrific - for following Stephen Fry and Robert (Red Dwarf) Llewellyn
    Facebook
Last.fm - free streamed playlist music, just tap in the artist you're interested in
    Google Earth
Bloomberg - share price stats, graphs etc..
iTalk - voice recorder (all you need is a £3 iphone mic adaptor of ebay)
FStream - streaming radio stations, I've got the bbc stations and twit.am
WiFinder - find out if you have any open WiFi nearby
Truphone for touch - free calls to Google Talk users (coming soon MSN/Skype as well), , cheap global calls to landlines/mobiles (all you need is a £3 iphone mic adaptor of ebay)

    --Games--

The Wifi eats up the battery life pretty quickly, so if you're just listening to music or watching videos, it makes sense to turn it off. You can also save battery life by completely quitting applications by holding down the home button for several seconds until it returns to the home screen.

In Safari, double clicking on something (be it a column of text or a photo) will zoom so it fills the screen and you can scroll to the top of a page by tapping the title bar.

Double clicking the home button will bring up the music controls no matter where you are, even if the iPod is locked.

That's all I can think of for now. I'll add some more when I remember them.

I wonder if someone can help me.

I am looking for a mains charger for the ipod touch 8gb, 2nd generation. i have bought one but when i connected it, it would not charge as it was not compatible with the 2nd gen version.

Can anyone recommend one that can be used with the 2nd gen ?

    Thanks all

Bought official charger off Amazon seller for £13 as none of the ones I had worked.

I also use Fring for VOIP with a Skype account.

I have a question, how long do the 2nd Gen iPod touches take to start up? Bf currently has a zen which takes a while but we were wondering how quick the iPod is?
