Well it must be sheer coincidence that I've had the flu vaccine done every year without fail since I was 3 years old, and I have never suffered with flu. NOT ONCE. Even when my partner had HN151 strain this year. The vaccine is rigorously tested every year before it is issued to patients. I for one have a very good reaction to it, eg sore arm, and a sniffle, which shows your body is producing anti bodys to it!
I work in a health care setting around sick people every day, and I'm never ill! If the flu jab does not work, they would not administer it!
A word of warning though - this year, 2 vaccines were produced, one covers the current epidemic (strain HN151, and yes it IS an epidemic, more than 1 in 20 people have already had it!), one does not. Ask the person issuing it what strains it covers if you are worried about the epidemic this year!
And FYI, there are 2 types of vaccine, one produced in eggs, and one not so if you have an allergy to eggs it shouldnt be an issue?Baby Mazza due New Years Day 2013!0 -

Are you sure? That's an extremely high figure and doesn't correspond to the sort of numbers published in the press.
Since I had my jab this morning (better late than never!) I'm a bit curious about the 2 different vaccines, do you have any more details?
