Perhaps a better description would be "compact" rather than portable!

My mother in law went to the sunderland Aldi @ 9.00 and they'd already sold out!!!!!!
Gutted - don't know what to get the kids now

Beginning to wonder if they existed! Everyone I know who tried to get one didnt even see any in store even first thing in the morning

We got one. I'm not sure how many the store had left but we didn't get there early.

I actually came to post a thanks to the OP and to say that we're really happy with it.

Does it play DivX disks?

Some earlier posters indicated that earlier models wouldn't, but the Aldi/Tevion one we bought about 3 years ago does no problem. We use it all the time plugged into our living room TV.
