    How about Krakow or Estonia.

    Can you fly from Manchester?

  • How about Krakow or Estonia.

Bit more unusual that, sounds very interesting though!

Anyone been that has any experiences to share?
  • I went to Bratislava in August and it was wonderful. Sky Europe fly there from Manchester. You may have left it a bit late to get a cheap flight, though.

We have been to Valencia a couple of times, it's a lovely place. Cheap to fly there too, with Thomsonfly.

There is a festival in March there, Las Fallas, which is quite spectacular. But just as a city break venue it's fine too. Excellent public transport, and not an expensive destination.

How do you get to Lido from treviso Airport....

It's the Hotel Giardinetto (they actually have 3 on Lido, but the Giardinetto is right opposite the vaporetti stop with a gorgeous view over the lagoon). The Reiter is much like the Giardinetto, only a couple of streets away; the Villa Parco where we stayed last time (free upgrade as the aircon had allegedly broken in our rooms in the Giardinetto) is a gorgeous 18th century villa about 15 minutes walk from the vaporetto stop, with a wonderful little restaurant opposite. We had the entire top floor (a suite each) and roof garden to ourselves in May for the same price as 2 single rooms in the Giardinetto.

At Treviso, there'll be a coach that takes you across the causeway to the Piazzale Roma (about 40 minutes) and terminates there. You get on any of the vaporetti heading into Venice; the No. 1 is the best one - every 10 minutes during the day (plus runs during the night), see all the sights on the way in as it snakes round the Grand Canal and out into the lagoon. It takes about an hour/an hour 10 to get to Lido from Piazzale Roma. You'll need a vaporetti pass that lasts several days which you can buy at Treviso or at Piazzale Roma; no-one's ever checked mine but the fines are extortionate if you're caught without.

    Bruges is lovely :)

The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Dusseldorf is brilliant. Great shopping in the "KO", the old town has very lively nightlife and you can go on a rhine cruise.Hotels are reasonably priced too. Ryanair fly to Weeze (about an hour by bus 11Euro EW ) Air Berlin and BA fly to Dusseldorf International
