Hi guys and gals, Can any one tell me the cheapest place to buy veg oil? We run our car on it and obviously would like to get it as cheaply as poss.
For all those of you who worry about the chancellor getting his share yes we do pay tax on it 17p a litre. Still cheaper than the jolly old pumps.
Thanks for your help

Hi

We have a forum dedicated to motoring issues and I'm sure there'll be other members there who use veg oil and will be able to help you, so I shall move this thread across for you.

Hi, try this one for starters http://www.dieselveg.com/
Veg oil new and used qualifies as a Biofuel, it comes under the same umbrella BUT NOT THE SAME AS Bio-diesel and as such it is given a measly 20p cut in fuel tax rates to that of Dino Diesel. To qualify for this pittance, vegetable oil must contain no more than 0.005% sulphur by weight, which non fossil organic materials will be, and must be at least 96.5% ester content by weight, vegetable oil is 100% esters of glycerol. As such duty payable is 27.1p per litre.0 -
I've heard that used oil is actually better than fresh (though it needs filtered, of course), so maybe you could ask your local takeaway if they could give you some. They would normally have to pay for its disposal, so they should be happy to give it away (though someone else might have asked first!)0
