If you've got kids, look out for cheap deals on Saturday mornings - our local Cineworld does kids films (probably ones that were released about six months earlier) and tickets are £1 each.

I got sky movies because it was cheaper than going to the cinema every week, which I was doing.

I was thinking of offering to pay my mum the extra per month to get sky movies. But I seriously watch any movie over and over. Last year when they were showing Perfume Story of a Murderer I must of watched just about every showing until my mum said enough was enough and I had the remote taken off of me. So I know there'd be a row if there was a movie I wanted to watch and mum and dad would sooner watch homes under the hammer.

It costs me about £50 everytime I go to the cinema. I love going but it's just so expensive. Our nearest cinema is over an hour away so the kids always need fed. Okay, we're not £50 to go to see the film but before you add petrol and a McDonalds or something..

The price of cinema tickets are bad...but the cost of food at the cinema is DISGUSTING.

A bag of Walkers crisps (normal size 35gms) is £1.20 and a bottle of water 500mls costs £1.95 at my local flicks...and I refuse to pay it.

If we do go to the piccys we go on Wednesday with Orange (two tickets for the price of one) and take our own sweets & drinks.
  • As a treat last Friday we went to the cinema and thought we'd have a MacDonalds aswell, won't be doing that again in a hurry, the whole evening cost £14 for the tickets and another £10.00 for food!

I normally go to the Greenwich Odeon or The 02 and 2 cinema tickets are normally £17!

As Sayonee stated above, there's a McDonalds promotion on at the moment.

Buy any large meal or Premium salad & get a code for "2 for the price of 1" tickets (link here)http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/?f=y

To be honest we just find the cost of cinema too prohibitive with two kids to take. We wait till it comes out on DVD, but that and some nibbles and have a film night in. If we like the film we keep the DVD but if not then we ebay it!!

Woah that's expensive. We don't have any chain cinemas in the whole county so don't get any freebies ever and that really bugs me :(
But with my local, I have a membership card so it's £2.99 per film

  • I think the card admin fee really takes the mickey. As others have said, the costs are high enough already.

Esp. when you factor in the cost of popcorn, drink etc.

Also makes me laugh when they now show the "Please don't pirate this film" adverts. If they'd charge reasonable prices in the first place then ppl would be more inclined to go.

Hmmm, i could pay £15 for two tickets, another tenner for crap food and fiver in fuel.......or I could download a dodgy version for free and live with the fact the quality is a bit ropey.......

In current times its not a hard decision to make. I'm not condoning it, just pointing out the thought process of many people.
