Prefix 07744 calls from 'Orange' cost 25p/10p

Options
Hi all,

Just thought I'd let you know......I checked with my mob service provider tonight 'Orange' and was told they now charge 25p per min peak & 10p per min off peak for calls to numbers with the prefix 07744 (Simplyfone) which means your overseas mobile charges are not as cheap as you thought.

The same rule applies for calls to the prefix 07755.

Dial carefully.

  • I just rang Orange and they told me they were still included in inclusive minutes, and they are only chargeable at the appropriate rate if you exceed the minutes.Usual Orange CS situation one half says one thing, the other half says something else.

Worth keeping a check on though wouldnt surprise me if they started to charge again.

IAX and Jun, having your bill today for calls done last month is not very good, cause the OP was saying it was change from 20th Dec 2005. Which your bills will not cover. Does online billing show "unbilled calls?"

    YES. mine does

but, if u r worried - don't use it & wait for your next bill.....
BUT , pls let us have results too. :p
  • I checked my inclusive minutes yesterday and made 30 minutes International call, now my inclusive mintes are subtracted by 30 minutes, I havn't made any call other than International call which shows that Subtracted 30 minute are due to International call. :j
    RESULT: Orange is not charging for 07744 number. :j :j :j :j :j

How can yours cover 20th Dec when it was the 20th today when the OP posted, orange do not produce bill for the 20th dec and post it by same day delivery. I am not worried and I won't use it cause I am on orange every day 50 and on my o2 I use other call through services to call other countries. But saying all that I would not be surprise if it is still inclusive and orange teletubbie just got it wrong.

They get call revenue. For example if you call just-dial number they get 2p a minute to call the 0870 number. Of this 2.5p a minute Just-Dial use 1p to route the call to your country. 1p to give to agent if there is one and than .5p a minute is their profit. Now the telecom carrier you are calling from charge you x amount, but they still give Just-dial 2.5p per minute for the call. Even if the call is part of the inclusive minutes, Orange, O2, or whoever still pay this interconnection. Hopefully the charges of line rental will cover their charges to simplyfone, just-dial, to other network (if you use the inclusive minutes to call cross network calls.) It is one reason why three give so many inclusive minutes cause they make money on people calling your three number.
