I have just ordered the Tesco Acer Aspire One A110L White N270 512MB 8GB 8.9" Net Book for my 11 year old for Christmas.
Can I please ask what is the cheapest 2GB memory stick I can get for this.
I was not sure if some are or are not compatible.
I am afraid I am a hopeless mum when it comes to computers!

try the crucial website - which will list the type of RAM you need. then you can just have a look at the various shops that sell that type of memory and play them off for prices.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0

Not sure if you are intending to upgrade the memory yourself, but according to this thread on HUKD it is quite a tricky procedure as you have to remove the keyboard to do it:

You do not need 2GB on an Acer Aspire ONE. 1GB is more than enough and 512MB I think you'll find is just fine.0

The original question asks what memory stick NOT which ram.0

It is a memory stick I need to get. My son has to have homework on a memory stick and take it into school to load up onto the schools computers.
I just wanted to check really is there a right or wrong stick to get, I was not sure if one fits all.
I have seen that play.com have 2gb ones for £4.99.

Flash drive is a flash drive, I'd just get the cheapest.

If its for school as posted , suggest getting cheapest available, forget size
A couple of 1gb better than a 4gb ( it will get lost!)
Also look at those without caps, another item to lose.0 -
Without wishing to cause panic and alarm, are you sure you want to buy a linux(i.e. not windows) based machine for him? That gum you like is coming back in style.0
