Fixed ISA that allows transfers ?

Are there any left ?

Found these two so far:

B&B - as I understand one needs to have unsused this year's allowance to qualify (initial £3600 transfer by DD required)
miss

Halifax - "Transferring to a fixed rate ISA
If you ask to transfer to our fixed rate ISA, interest rates may change before the transfer has been completed."
this statement does not look promising in the current situation ...
miss

Anything else ?

I've got my eye on the Northern Rock one. Just hoping it will still be available when my Icesave ISA compensation comes back to me. If not I'm thinking Nat West but that's a variable rate and has just dropped because of the 0.5% drop. Could well be less attractive if it drops further with todays cut

Northern Rock opens with an initial payment of a minimum £500 so no good if you have used this years allowance.

I understood your transfer in could cover that £500?

Your initial deposit can be made by: (amongst other options)

transfer from another Cash ISA provider

    Tried to apply online:

"Have you opened or subscribed to another Cash ISA during this tax year?" - > Yes (I've already opened an isa and used my allowance this year)

    Next page:
    "Sorry,

You can only subscribe to one Cash ISA in any one tax year."

Even if I answer No, on the next page it asks me to select where to make the initial deposit from, a cheque or an existing NR account, no option to open by transfer from another ISA ! :(

But in the post version of application form:
"If you are transferring funds from a Cash ISA with another provider and are not investing funds from the current tax year, please confirm the taxyear when subscriptions were last made."
As I understand it, one can transfer funds from another provider and including current year money

I think if you are transferring in you need to do so by post, there are two links to download an application form and a transfer form.

In any case if you do apply online, you still have to send the completed form in by post!

You can begin applying for your chosen product now by filling in the online application form and then posting yor details to us. Simply follow the steps below:
    Have a printer?
    1. Click 'complete application form online'
    2. Print this out and sign
    3. Return application form to us using the address below:

Mind you if all the good ISA deals are pulled because of todays rate drop by the time Icesave compensation comes through I might just forget about ISA and transfer it all into the 6% fixed rate I managed to get with Halifax a few days ago and start all over again next year. Don't think I can take the stress or time wasting anymore!

Yes, what is the point of tax free savings scheme if there is effectively no tax due to low rates !

p.s. As I remember Halifax does not allow additional deposits into fixed saver accounts .. YBS did, but their product was withdrawn recently ..

    Yes, but ..

    "I declare that
    • I have not subscribed, and will not subscribe, to another Cash ISA in the same year that I subscribe to this Cash ISA.
    "

Which is not true in my case ?

    Confused !
