Abbey Current Account Customers?

I had to have money coming in and out of the account. I only used to deposit about £500 in cash every month and had 1 direct debit of £18.00 come out.

6 months later a letter came through informing me I am ready for an upgrade to Current Account (from Instant Plus Account) I also received a cheque book.

Another 6 months later, another letter informing me I am eligible for a Visa Debit card. This came with a £100 Cheque Guarantee.

6 months later no more letters I called them and asked if they had anything to offer me, they offered me £200 over draft

I checked my file and in none of the above they did a credit check. I cannot complain about Abbey as they haven't done anything wrong in my case. It has been over a year since I received the £200 over draft. I will be calling them up next week to ask for more offers

I also have adverse credit history, many defaults and late payments.

i hope they dont move my card to electron... they keep asking me to but im thinking one day they will just switch it automatically... then buy buy ryanair fee free trans... *cries*

Thanks akashi so i suppose they dont really expect much. How much would yot have left balance wise come to the end of the month? Ill probably have around 200 or 300 each month hopefully having a balance after 6 months of 1200 with money still coming in. Surely they must offer me one then?

I don't believe it matters how much money you keep in the account. But I do believe the £500 going in every month made the difference.

I also had the Abbey Instant Plus account since 1998, but my account was overdrawn by 20p and for 3 years kept on increasing as I did not use the account!

Called Abbey and now my over draft is increased to £1000! from £200 My account is still in credit, even more reasons for me to like Abbey!
