People up north miss out on cheap day trips to France etc

Its too far for us to travel & makes it a nightmare for us! We once went on a 3day coach trip to Paris and were in the coach from 4am until 9pm non stop.
If we went by train the fare would be too much, its not fair!
Sorry just having a moan!

You could fly, or move further south?
I can't really see your point, other than you don't like where you live?Gone ... or have I?0 -
It's not fair is it ?
I saw someone else complaining about rip-off Britain, because it takes us 10 hours to get to Jamaica,, whereas Americans get there in 3 !!0 -
I think that it is about time that people stopped living up north. It's so far away from everything.0

Too true! However, you also missed out on rip-off house prices, and so should have enough spare cash to take the train.0

But to be fair, it's a lot cheaper and quicker for you to get to Hull, Middlesborough and Barrow, so it all evens out in the end

I live in northern ireland so have to pay out £300 to get the ferry over to wales!!! never mind drive down to Dover.
At least you get the chance to get a £9 room with Travelodge! They don't extend that offer to northern ireland! Cheek!
(I lived in London for most of my life and would never choose to move back there!):D so i will just have to book myself a cheap flight away. Thanks Ryanair!0 -
I vote this post as the "nuttiest" post of the month0

But you can go on a day trip to Blackpool and be home in time for Newsnight, we can't.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Well, I am just lucky aren't I living down South
You can enjoy Ryanair deals (unless you can't read and post about "RIP" off Ryanair) to go over to France/Germany etc anyway if you are "up North"
can't you? I just have choice of Eurostar/Eurotunnel and the ferries as well (and I can see the sea state in advance courtesy of my local news) .
(I am rubbing it in, but in jest)
The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0
