will you have to start paying for these free upgrades and add-ons, like Mobile Saver

When you sign up for the rolling 12 month Free Evening and Weekend 01/02/3 Calls contract, irrespective of whether you take the Mobile Saver add on , you agree that at the end of each 12 month minimum period the contract will be automatically renewed for a further 12 month minimum period unless you tell BT otherwise. They say they will write to remind you when your contract is nearing the end of a renewable period.Just in case it will be worth making a note in your diary to review. They are unlikely to increase the cost of the Free 12 month call packages.

i have it myself i did do it online but i see now its not an online option.

    Hello All,

So, if I want to save money when calling mobiles, I should use 18185 and/or BT Mobile Call Saver...

As per the quote above, all I now need to do is follow the recommended steps for the BT option...If I do:

    1. Will BT Mobile Call Saver be free?
    2. By opting for this feature, will it renew my existing 12-month rolling contract?
    3. Will any early termination charges of my existing 'renewable' package be waived, if point 2 is applied?
    I think we're nearly there Speedee! :j

Ask yourself what would you prefer to pay to call UK Mobiles from your BT Landline?

    1. 5p connection with 18185 and 6p a minute calls ( 5p a minute calls at Weekends).

or 2. 7p connection and 7.5p a minute calls with BT using the Mobile Call Saver when its added at no extra cost to the Free Evening and Weekend Call Package.

Also Syko29793 has already said in a previous post.I quote.

"if you add mobile saver for no extra cost then it is added to you existing contract you do not renew and do not pay any termination charges."

Hi Deal Surfer, I'm pretty certain 18185 is cheaper, but if you have a BT line and pay BT for your calls, and don't think you will be changing to another line provider, (as they can block some of your calls through overide providers, which is why I think it's best to for me to stay with BT), then you may want to sign up for this Mobile Saver add-on too, just in case you forget to go through 18185 to a mobile in the daytime! That's what I was thinking anyway !

I said I'd find the T&C's. Below I've cut out the terms I found online and pasted them in blue, and added some comments in black.

With regard to your last points 2 and 3, I'm still not certain! but I doubt BT waive any charges if they can get away with it; in fact they charge for things they aren't supposed to!! (I read a few threads today!!) BT have just renewed their terms and conditions and a few words have been dropped, which some people have concerns about.

Hope that makes sense and helps a bit!

Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan at no extra cost with inclusive Mobile Saver – 12 month renewable contract special deal

This deal isn't available through our main website www.bt.com. Please call us to order.
syko29793 says "you have to call 0800800880 option 2 and request" it.

The unlimited UK Evening & Weekend calls with inclusive Mobile Saver deal is available to eligible new and existing residential customers agreeing to the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan on a 12 month renewable contract. (I read this 2 ways, I'm assuming I'm eligible, as I'm an existing residential customer, but I have already agreed to the
Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan on a 12 month renewable contract at the beginning of June, I think, so will it restart my 12 month period? It probably won't bother me, but I'd like to know the answer first!)

You will receive inclusive (meaning free) Mobile Saver (normally £1.50 a month) for the duration of the minimum period or any renewable period. Mobile Saver provides discounted call rates to UK mobiles (excludes roaming mobiles) – a 7p set-up fee applies to all calls.

You will only pay line rental, which has a monthly cost of £10.50 if you pay by Direct Debit or monthly payment plan and elect for paper-free billing. Otherwise add £1.50 per month for payment processing fee levied by BT Payment Services Limited, a BT Group company, plus £1.25 without paper-free billing discount. Exclusions and conditions apply. Discount is via bill credit.

At the end of each 12 month minimum period the contract will be automatically renewed for a further 12 month minimum period unless you tell us otherwise. We will write to remind you when your contract is nearing the end of the renewable period. You cannot downgrade during the minimum period or any renewable minimum period. If you would like to move onto the Unlimited Anytime Plan you may do so by taking up an Unlimited Anytime special offer or deal but a new contract term will apply. If you cease service during the minimum period or any renewable period a termination charge will apply.

If you do not wish to renew this deal, all you need to do is let us know before the renewal date. If you choose not to renew your contract with us, at the end of your contract term you will then start to pay the standard monthly price for the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan, currently £2.70 per month plus line rental and the standard monthly price for Mobile Saver, currently £1.50 a month.
Please contact us for further information about moving or upgrading as some exceptions may apply.

Credits will be applied from your next bill, or if you have paper-free billing, this will be shown on your e-bill. If you are a Pay&Call customer the credits will be added to your BT Pay&Call Moneybox account.
BT Local, Working Together, Working Together Talk, Light User Scheme or InContact Plus are no longer available for new supply so customers will not be able to return to these packages at the end of the minimum period or any renewable period.
Excludes customers benefiting from some special offers or deals.

Their is no doubt about it.:D

BT have to allow access to Indirect Codes like 18185. Other suppliers do not.

    Hello Speedee,

Excellent info - really appreciate it!

Like you, I don't really mind if the contract is renewed for another 12-months (mine started in August), but as you've mentioned above, it would be nice to know before making any commitment...funny how they can forget to put things like that in their 'up-dated' T&C's.

They've also forgot to mention if they will start charging you for the 'free Mobile Call Saver add-on' after the intial 12-months or worst still, if they charge you for it (along with the Evening & Weekend Call Package fee at £2.70/month) plus line rental for the remaining period, if you cancel within the 12-month contract....I also noticed from your info. above, that once your commited, you cant downgrade...a bit worrying, as they can start slowly raising connection charges and call fees to a mobile over time, whilst you're locked in...
