Oiled fired Esse........Any one else out there with one?

We have an oiled fired Esse, a pot burner, just had a new talking tank fitted. We had a delivery of oil 2nd October, the talking tank said 8 that is 8/10th of the tank. Today the tank is showing 3, 5 weeks !!!!!!! The cost to fill to 8/10 £533.
This does heat all our water, with a pump on it heats 5 radiators.
Is this excessive? The fire is on 24/7. If its normal the only solution I see is to turn it off over night.
