No! I can't move in my bedroom. there are things under the bed, in the wardrobes and around the room. I said to OH the other day not long till everything has gone once the hampers are made up. He said you will just start buying for next year:rotfl:
That really made me smileit's just the sort of thing my husband says!!
I have boxes of bits everywhere (or piles of bags etc etc) and he does get fed up sometimes!! Mind you, I think he appreciates the fact that I'm organised and moneysaving....I think???:rotfl:0 -
Thank heavens for my little spare room :j Having said that half my computer room is also full of 'stuff'...............OH has just about given up I think and leaves me to it, thankful that he doesn't have to think about what to get who for Christmas.................lol
Oh the bliss when it's all been delivered and I can see the floor again and actually see the spare bed (good job no-one wants to come and stay !)Mary

Hello everyone! :j
I am a TOTAL hampers newbie but I'm so inspired by everyone's efforts that I'm gonna get stuck in!
I hope peeps don't mind if I ask a few questions:
Where do the cake cases come from for the flannels?
Why do the eyes and noses come from for the Rudolphs? Do you stitch them on?
How do people cellophane huge hampers? Surely the cellophane is only a certain width?
Also, I need to purchase some cellophane, ribbons and tissue paper.
Who is the supplier most peeps here favour?
Finally I know a 22 year old lad who is really into fashion (not in a Gok Wang or Trinny & Suzannah way!) He has a real interest in it. Any ideas?
Sorry if you get asked all these questions time and again!"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being"."Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that"."True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".:rotfl:0 -

Hi Redballoon
When wrapping my hampers that are too big for the width of the cellophane, I just cut 2 pieces the same lenght, and place one over the other so that they overlap enough for what I want to wrap, and put a piece of sellotape down the edges that have overlapped - doing one side first and then turning the cellophane over and putting some sellotape on the other side. This will give you a larger area of cellophane to work with. Hope it makes sense.2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
Yes it does thanks!
Sounds kinda obvious now you've said it! :rotfl:"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being"."Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that"."True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".:rotfl:0 -

I bought my cake cases from Baking Frenzy on ebay as did lots of others (I think).
I got the googly eyes for the reindeer from Hobbycraft and glued them to the flannels and red noses were from ebay as my Hobbycraft didn't have the size I wanted.
I have bought my cello and pull bows from Flower Hour on ebay (can you tell I am an ebay fan) but you could try Hobbycraft, your local florist, someone mentioned Lidls had rolls of plain cello on offer?
HTH:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
hi red balloon, think flower hour is an ebay seller a lot of people use. ps- love your sig, edward monkton is awesome.
Is the lad into fashion in the way that he is always well dressed and up to date?
In regards to the hampers, I have mine all in a corner of my room, am getting OH to take over a room up the stairs for them though, will need to get something to stand them on top of so they aint lying on the ground though!
hmmm, think some thinky thoughts may be required there!0 -
Well I am in my element ... I have just made up a marmite hamper for OH ... couldn't get the marmite chedder cheeses yet as I cannot keep the hamper in the fridge without him knowing and I can't wrap it yet either cause I have run out of cellophane
(please excuse the mess in the picture I have taken over the dining room whilst OH is on his last week of working away!
