Well after much debating over how to wrap my baskets I've done one........didn't want everything to be seen prior to christmas so I've wrapped a sort of lining of silver paper inside the basket and covered whats inside then put the plain cellophane back on and tied with a silver ribbon. (unwanted gifts).
Hi Mary, sorry, meant to post this before, but you know how it is.....! This link gives instructions on how to wrap hampers and baskets (4th item down I think), and I thought of you because you could use your purple cello (shredded in a paper shredder, if you have access to one) in the base. A piece of silver tissue over the top before the cello wrap would tone beautifully, if you have any. This idea may also help anyone else who's having trouble with hamper wrapping - I know I am!

Also wanted to ask if anyone has seen any cheap Jack daniels stuff anywhere? I am getting an alarm clock from ebay (hopefully if I can win one cheap enough!) and wanted to get a few other bits to make a basket from it, ebay seems quite expensive for some stuff though, I guess because it is collectable!
Am pretty much organised other than dh though, oh and still have to make up the snowman soups for DD's SEVEN!!!! Pre-school teachers! Lucky Snowman Soup is pretty Money Saving!!!
Hope you are well

Cordy - thanks for that. Never shredded cellophane in my little shredder before - might give it a try tomorrow and if it shreds ok I've got a mixture of purple and pink (only small pieces) and all shredded up and sprinkled over the pressies grandaughter won't see whats in the basket (I hope..........lol)
You'll hear me yell if it all goes wrong......................lol
If it goes ok I'll wish I'd done it with sons girlfriends..............Mary

I'm still enjoying this thread and all the inspiration I'm getting!! Anyway, I've been busy again with a cinema night in hamper for my friend whose birthday was today. Here are the pics:-
I was really pleased (and surprised) how thrilled she was with it. And I had the ultimate compliment from one of the girls in work - when she saw it she asked me where I'd bought it!!!!And for those of you who like to know, the basket was £1.99 in Wilkies, DVD was £7.99, and two bottles of Magners for £3 in Mr T's, tube of sweets was £1 and I had the popcorn and maltesers in the house already.
The only problem I'm having is getting the ribbon to look nice around the top, but it is only my second attempt.
I bought half a dozen gold glass bowls in Ikea yesterday for 79p each to do some pots of gold which I've already got coins and Ferrero Rochet for.
Happy hampering everyone!!!
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
