Has your usage increased? Have you got any arrears?0

BG wanted to up my DD from £50 per month to £90 per month!:eek::eek:
I was on click energy 5 - I changed to click energy 6 and they dropped the DD to £45 per month!
Apparently there had been a 40% increase in click 5 rates, but click 6 is cheaper.
I HATE the way they mess about with the tariffs - If I could find a cheaper supplier, I'd be off like a shot. Sadly, for me, at the moment BG click 6 is the cheapest.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Looking at your usage over a year and costing the total kwh at current prices, if you divide by 12, what is the monthly cost?0

Thanks No Extra Usage Am Also On Click Energy 6,no Arrears,am £145 In Credit, asked Them To Keep Same Amount Dd But Wouldnt Budge.
Call Centre Told Me Some People Dd Gone Up To £300 Mnth,so Cancelled Mine Will Pay Bill When I Get It.0 -
If you're happy to pay quarterly bills and don't mind losing the DD discount, you might as well put your £65 in a savings account and earn a little interest. Otherwise, I've found suppliers will bring your DD down in line if you calculate your annual usage and multiply it by current cost (say for example £900 a year) and offer a twelfth (again for example) £75 a month. It's worked for me.0

British Gas Wanted To Up My Dd From £65 Month To £112 Cancelled Dd,people I Know Have Done The Same Wat Is Bg Up To.
I use virtually no gas as in a few therms a year, BG will be aware of that because I have been with them in recent times and previous supplier histories would tell BG the same thing, yesterday I discovered that they direct debited me 69.00 in respect of my gas account. I was notified what my electricity DD payments would be, sadly not what my gas DD payments would be.
My complaint has gone in asking BG bearing in mind the above, what basis did they decide to direct debit me 69.00 in respect of my gas account. I intend to pursue the issue as far as i can not just for me, also for those who have less abilities to do so. :cool:0 -

I have put my electric on quarterly bills. My last quarterly bill was £80 and I am £60 in credit, yet they wanted to put the monthly DD up to £40.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

I too have recently had my DD letter advising an increase from £75/m for Gas to £127 am £36 in credit whilst wait for it...........Electricity DD is to rise from £75/m to £148, they now say i am in arrears by £285.
So i have swapped to 1/4 bill for gas as new boiler has only been in from April & last year the house was a building site (boiler on 24/7). moved credit from gas to electric & will be looking to make a single payment to clear the arrears (told me i was £400 in arrears on last bill but can't find that one!), then i'll switch that over to 1/4 bill.
Would like to know what average use for a 4 bed house with 2 adults & 2 kids (12yrs+8yrs) is for gas & electric as i have tracked my use this week & it works out at 1.5Kw/day for gas & 14-17kw/day for electricity. Anybody any ideas where i can get an example form?
many thanks0 -

Do you mean 1.5 meter units a day - if so, that's not kwh (to convert cubit metres, multiply by 11 or if imperial, multiply by 31). Your elec is higher than ours (6 of us) but we're on a mission.0
