  • Could you be due a free upgrade from your mobile phone company?

That's how I got my 14 year olds main present this year at no cost to me, reduced my monthly payment to a better amount and still got the a sony ericsson w595 as my upgrade so with a pay as you go sim he is sorted!

They are very reliable, quick and helpful.
  • I have an old second hand laptop. It isn't fantastic - only 20gigs harddrive, although he could always use an external. It runs Windows XP and is fitted with a wireless card. I was using it until earlier this year when I was very very naughty and gave in to my credit limit increase and got another...

Anyway, the battery is busted so it has to be run off the mains, although you could pick up a new one cheaply.

I know it's not great but it's fine for surfing the net and doing homework...if that's all he wants it for, I'm happy to clear it up and let you have it - it was only going to end up on Freecycle anyway.

  • if its really a laptop he wants you could consider getting a mobile broadband deal from 3 with a free laptop, probably not very money saving as you are tied in to a 24 month contract but you do get broadband connection too.

That is very lovely of you and it would be really appreciated, although I couldn't accept it for nothing and would have to give you something for it. Where are you, if you are not too far we could pick it up.

Please PM me with your details and what you would like for it.

What about a portable DVD Player. If he likes Gadgets and you want to get him a main present if you look around you can pick them up for about £40.00 for the cheap ones.

  • Check your PMs :)

I was going to Freecycle it anyway, so save the money and put a new battery in it instead maybe. :)
