Just order two of these for dd's, seems like a cheap offer for a camera phone, also has bluetooth. Obviously not the latest thing, but looks like a great bargain for my girls who are 8 and 10 and want a camera phone. Hope this helps someone.

Have just seen it on Carphone Warehouse site for £69.99 (they do a price match apparently if you prefer to use them) - makes me feel all warm and glowing inside to think I've found a bargain!
Edit: phone arrived day after ordering at about 10am - can't get much quicker than that!

These student deals have been around for a long time. :snow_grin
The O2 X1b does not get particularly favourable reviews. It is cheap when you consider the features at face value, but apparently the camera is not very good and users have reported problems with the Bluetooth (from memory, I think it's OK for operating a headset, but doesn't work for data transfer).
Most people on this forum tend to favour the Nokia 6030 for the same price - no camera or bluetooth, but it's easy to unlock so you can use it on any network.
Sorry to burst your bubble, and I hope I haven't extinguished your "warm glow" :xmassmile0 -
Warm glow still alive and well - I know that this isn't the best phone in the world, but it's the cheapest camera phone I've found, and at the end of the day I've bought them for and 8 and a 10 year old, I'm pretty certain that they won't care too much about data transfer - I don't even know about this, my phone makes calls and apparently you can text with it! Basically all they want is to text their chums and take pics of themselves and friends to giggle over before taking another one!
But thanks anyway for letting me know, I'm sure your advice will be useful to others out there.
Personally I want a pink phone that's about £120, not sure what it is but pretty sure that dh has taken the hint - who cares so long as it's pink :snow_grin Never said I was a technical whizzGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
:snow_grin Just ordered this for myself. Trying to move up in the techno world, and as a 19 year old student with tecnho minded mates, i feel a bit left behind. so thanks for this OP!!Monthly Food Budget: out of the window0

So why doesn't everyone log in as a student?
They must check up somehow.
I paid full whack, BTW the bluetooth is handset only so it is more expensive to get logos ringtones on it.0 -
I ordered one of these phones and it came today, within about 8-10 days very pleased with it so far, :j I too got it without saying I was a student, although I am (mature student) I was ready to say I was ,but never got the chance. I got it for my son who really wants a phone for phones sake, with camera and games as he is only 8 this was the one to get at £30.!!!
Altho I am not really sure about the topping up idea, I have to read a bit about that coz he wont use £10. a month. Can antyone help there do I HAVE to use o2? can I get it unlocked? I prefere virgin......... :0 -

Ive just noticed they have 2 other phones for sale. The Nokia 6030 for £29.99 looks very stylish and a NEC one which looks poor.. Which one would you say was the best out of the three?0
