Hi all
1st post & had to tell anyone that wants it -
Yes, o2 are actually giving away a years free broadband (basic package of course) Equivalent to £12.50 a month ( £7.50 if you have an o2 phone).
I was in an o2 shop today & got asked if I wanted free broadband for a year !! No catch, all I had to do was sign up. Free router modem etc as per the website.
This was a special where each shop had 10 packages to give away, and as of 330pm today, one of the shops in the Metro Centre, Gateshead had all 10 still to give away !!. ( o2 BB 1st anniversary!! )
One of the staff said that people were running away when the staff said it was completely free !!. They would not believe the staff !
Anyway, typical, I signed up for o2 10 days ago !!!!!
Via cashbacksite though !:D
Happy shopping !
Foz
Ps - o2 BB now 30% faster than previous supplier !!
pps - sorry if already posted elsewhere

I posted on other threads earlier, but to add to this, I am an existing O2 customer and when I threatened to leave they offered me free broadband for 12 months. Free sounds good to me!0

Interesting report - with o2 offering £60 quidco during second-half of October I'd assumed o2 were enthusiastic to get their subscriber numbers up by 1/11 (eg for some financial period/industry stats/comparisons reasons), but looks like they are still trying to drum up the numbers.
Have cross-posted your report over in ThinkBroadband forum.
They are actually just over a year old - they started mid October 2007, and I went live on 29th October.

REPLY TO LIZISBEST AND A PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED.
Hi,
First time i'm posting on MSE (wooooooooooo) ok back 2 this reply,
(LIZISBEST)
Can you explain to me what you did to get this as you state u are an existing o2 broadband customer.
Can you leave o2 broadband if your in a contract with them etc you have 5 months remaining?
(PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED)
Also when i purchased o2 broadband (a couple of months ago) i was a o2 contract customer but my contract ended recently and i have to now pay 12.50 a month.
I've relised this today when i checked on the 02 website but when i took this deal out the advisor stated it would remain 7.50 a month regardles of when my 02 contract ends. i also read this somewhere on there website but i can't find it now.
Has anyone got same problem or knows what i'm talking about.
Cheers.:beer:0 -
You get £5 a month discount for being an o2 mobile customer. If you are no longer a mobile customer, then the discount stops.
You could get the £5/month discount reinstated by getting an 02 payg sim, registering it as yours with your bb a/c and topping it up at least £10 every 3 months.0
