Tesco Online groceries overcharging

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I just wanted to warn all of you Tesco online grocery shoppers and remind you to check your bills when you receive them.

I knew my bill wasn't quite right but with umpteen bags around me I couldn't be sure, however, it was about £5 over what it should be. When I checked it against my email order confirmation I'd been overcharged, sometimes by as much as double, on 5 separate items.

Brief message is be vigilant, customer services have refunded but I shouldn't have to check it bit by bit and to be overcharged on 10% of the items I bought. :mad:

There might have been swops so not really an overcharge if any swops are included.

Or is it possible that the prices had increased between the order being placed and it being delivered? The price at the time of ordering is only a guide.

Hi thanks for the responses.

Nope , no swaps and none of them were on offer with an offer date ending between the time I ordered and delivery.....only 14 hours between the two events, 10 pm one night, midday delivery......confirmation email had the right firgures and the website is still showing the lower figures too, hence why they swiftly refunded.

I appreciate the guide price is often a best guesstimate but this was just blatantly wrong. I have been online shopping for a long time with them and it's been getting progressively worse....tomatoes packed under a 2 litre bottle of pop etc.....so the new way of boosting their income from me was not appreciated.

Cigs swopped to nicorette
2pint semi skimmed swopped to 20 chinese kebabs
Tampons swopped to 2 value bars of soap

I am sure it was annoying for the customers who were either expecting the correct item or at least an alternative that would have been acceptable!

I assume from the content of you post you used to work for the company, and all I can say is that standing by whilst seeing such substitutions, whilst no doubt having a good chuckle, just shows your immaturity!

I dont have an issue with it, and if edna finds the post in some way offensive I apologise, as that is not my intention, the relevance of my post was in reply to the irrelevance of edna's post. that the OP asked a question regarding overcharging, and even stated that there was no SWAPS involved, leading me to ask why a list of good "swaps" was relevant to the OPS post.

I tend to think the OP is slightly more concerned that she has been overcharged by the store, than any good SWAP deals the store has to offer. Its as irrelevant as somone saying "Id blame Asda for it" or "its another conspiracy against Tesco!" IMHO
