Hi, not sure if this in the right place so feel free to move if needs be but I was wondering the best way to clean glass ovenware? I have 2 large glass pyrex roasting dishes and over time, although they are washed after each use, grease has build up and they're brown.
I have tried Scotchbrite and brillo pads....just wondered if anyone had some foolproof way of getting them sparkling again. It's funny that they actually sparkle on washing up liquid ad's but I can't get mine to do that!!:rotfl:£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0 -
we have a steam cleaner and OH uses it to clean the oven. When he's finished he blasts other "things" and the grease etc just melts away - like magic0

wire wool beats brillo pads hands down every time in my book-bit harder work but always brings my pyrex up sparkling plus its loads cheaper. I find the foam off brillo sticks to your hands and leaves a smell on the item too even after washing in the sink after.

Cream of tartar mixed into a paste with water gets brown gunge off dishes. Might be worth a try. Think I found this in one of those 1000 tips type books.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Another vote for hot water, some Brillo pads or those metal scourers, some powerful or concentrated detergent, like Stardrops ... and lots of elbow grease. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
