I believe you can have an unlimited number of fixed accounts.

    1 Web Saver Extra

    5 Web Saver Variables.

1 Web Saver Reward (just noticed this on their site - 5% fixed for £50+, 4 withdrawals allowed) - which is included in the 5 variables - which makes it confusing!
  • No, its 5 max ...

You can open a maximum of 5 Web Saver accounts at any one time (fixed or variable, sole or joint). Variable Web Saver Extra is limited to one account per customer.

    A convincing find!

I have, however, clarified this with my branch and have recently opened 3 Web Saver Reward accounts, 4 Web Saver Fixed accounts and a Web Saver Extra.

So I stand by my original post and think that they have failed to adequately update the small print on their web site!!

The current product page for Web Saver Reward only makes reference to variable accounts.

"Number of accounts - maximum of 5 variable rate Halifax Web Saver accounts in sole or joint names (including Web Saver Reward and variable rate Halifax Web Saver, with or without card options)"

From a thread a couple of weeks ago I recollect there is a bit of confusion on the Halifax website. It used to be the case that the limit of concurrent Websavers was 5 .... and that included fixed / variable / individual and joint - all combined.

But recent posted experiences suggest the lack of any specified limit on the key facts of the fixed rate version :-

    http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/ImportantInfo/imporinfo_fixedratewebsaver.asp

...... indicates the limit now solely applies (as stated in the key facts) to the variable version only :-

    We're approaching pantomime season:

    OH NO IT ISN'T!

Variables (including the new Reward product) - 5
    Extra - 1
Fixed (excluding the Reward product) - no limit

Rang them, asked them, tested it out personally!

I think Reward and Extra accounts are not included in this limit.

Easy to check though - try to open another Variable account, it will tell you at the second step if you are eligible .. you can then cancel the process.

I would not trust information from Halifax customer services, I had a query recently, rang them, got 3 different opinions from different representatives, all appeared to be wrong when I double checked it in branch.
