Sorry iyiarz,
Maybe that sounded like an insult? I meant 'secret' as in Dell were selling something for a lot less that they would normally sell it for without knowing it. This particular bout of Dell threads started with a value code that accessed offers that should only be available to the private sector or large/medium organisations. By tapping in to these areas of the site, we were promised riches beyond our dreams (well a bit of a deal anyway).
I just make the point that they can be accessed at virtually the same cost normally and this is not a special opportunity.
Whether you think the computers are good value is another matter altogether. Dell do a pretty good job of summing up each pc's abilities and to that end, they are fine machines. They look smart and are of a good quality. The locked BIOS is a handicapp if anyone hoped to 'clock' them (I believe).

Can anybody suggest whether its worth getting the speakers that add to the flat panal monitor or to go for normal speakers ?
Also, is it worth upgrading to the ultra sharp flat panal screen ?Never buy a stupid dwarf -
Its not big and its not clever.0 -

Mine was a company purchase (small business) so I used the Limited company name.

Right, thats my worry with this one, i'm not actually a company!
I didnt keep my IR number either - copied it to clipboard to paste into notepad then forgot about it :-/Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
I think its much more possible to get your order if you ordered via the business dept rather then the public sector part.
The main difference between this and the small business is the delivery price I think,
The hard disk offer is also on the Small Business site.
and I know if you call the sales line you can remove the monitor.
So its a very good deal but not a miss price as such, so they might be more accepting.0 -
I've got the outstanding authorisation on my Barclaycard (0% till Aug 2005
) so I know they have it. Just have to wait I suppose. Definately a good deal I think, only thing I'll do is add a DVDRW and *maybe* upgrade the graphics - i'll see how Half Life 2 runs on it.
I need to get shut of the Dimension 3000 i've got now, not sure whether to stick it on Loot or Ebay it.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
