I am going through a brief episode of madness and think that I might be tempted to get a buy to let mortgage and maybe buy another house with the dip in house prices at the moment.

I know for a fact that there is going to be an influx into the area with a new college being built and students will need somewhere to stay.

Need to do some homework first though...........I have no money though to put a deposit down :rotfl:

Just had a quick look at rates on buy to let mortgages..............no way am I going to do that.:eek:

Oh well, that idea lasted all of 2 hours:rotfl:

Back to work soon but hopefully not out too late as the students are only coming in to do a skills test and then go home.

I have forgotten to buy toilet rolls 3 days in a row now........we are down to using kitchen roll, if I forget again tonight it will be the Xmas napkins and then newspaper:rolleyes:

I know, it just seems to be something that other people do and are sucessful, I however would end up getting the tennants from hell who totally wreck my house to the point where it would need demolishing:rotfl:

there are lots of horrible tales on the housing board of btl first timers who basically get shafted, one in particular springs to mind where the owner wanted to move in but couldn't as theyhad the tenant from hell who was sub-letting to a gorilla-esque boyfriend and basically refused to move out.

When they did eventually go, they took all the radiators and the boiler as well as ruining all the carpets. The owner felt it was a small price to pay.
