  • Name of present? homemade advent calendar
Do you make it or buy it? Make it
Total Cost? £1.00 or under (or you can spend more)
    Details (the more the better)
Great idea which can be as cheap as you like or as expensive and can be done by children or adults. The basic idea is to take an A4 envelope and an A4 piece of paper. Cut 24 doors/flaps in your envelope. Mark on the paper where the doors/flaps are and fill in the surprise! it could be a kiss, an offer to cook tea, tidy up etc. you can even stick love hearts to them! The main one is then the 24th and this could say 'take a day off 25th and enjoy', what a great gift that would be! Once you have completed the 24 spaces on the paper, pop inside the envelope and seal. You can stick the doors/flaps on the envelops down with a sopt of blue tak. You can now decorate your envelope in any way you wish and all thats left to do is give to someone - partner, parent, child, friend etc
  • Name of present? Framed collage for a loved one

Do you make it or buy it? Make it

Total Cost? You just need an A4 clip frame (£1.00 from Wilkinsons)

    Details (the more the better)
I made this for my boyfriend when I was a penniless student. I created a collage using things like photos, cinema tickets, train tickets and postcards of places we visited throughout the year. You need a bit of foresight to collect everything, but luckily for me, my fella keeps EVERYTHING so it wasn't too difficult.

I framed it using an A4 Clip frame and just put a title on it and a personal message at the bottom. It's still on our wall, and loads of people have commented on it.
