Are you putting in a landline number? It seems to want the area code in brackets (for me, 0131) do I don't think a mobile number would work?

I had the same problem and telephoned them - It does not work if you are using Firefox, went in through IE and it worked fine. Telephone number had brackets but order processed, whereas with Firefox it kept popping up with enter a valid telephone number.
