  • i am getiing a wii for the family for xmas - trying to work out the best stuff to get with it?
I dont know whethre to get mario kart with the extra wheel, or mario olympics with the basic package (or considering the wii with extra controller and nunchuk and buying the family trainer as ive read it is as good as the wii fit but more fun) - ages of kids are 11, 13, (boys) 14 and 16 (girls) me and hubby 40's - was wondering if the mario kart is more a boy thing, and i would be better getting the olympics or family trainer - if so which? Also with 4 kids would it be worth getting 3 extra remotes and nunchuks or just the one for now?
  • I have found 2 really good offers on xbox 360's!

Currys have an xbox 360 60gb with 4 games for £199.00 Possibly the best offer I have found, of which I am probably going to get for a christmas present.

Gamestation have the same xbox 60gb, with 2 games and an extra wireless controller for £189.99. Both definately appear worth the money. Hope this helps somebody. :j
  • I also posted this on the Grabbit board...

I got the following at Gamestation today...

    PS3 80gb
Motorstorm 2 (or I could have chosen Little Big Planet)
    Burnout Paradise
    Batman Begins Blu Ray
    Sony Blu Ray Remote

    £299.99

I rang them yesterday and they told me all the different bundles over the 'phone but when I got there this one wasn't advertised in store.
I asked them and they checked and it was still on offer, so always ask if what you are after is not on the shop floor.

They also have the above, but with Little Big Planet option not Motorstorm on their website if you want Quidco cashback.
 Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Apart from price, (arcade being the cheapest and elite the most expensive) there aren't many differences between the consoles.

I believe the hard drive is the main difference though.

The arcade doesn't have one but is often packaged with a 256mb memory card,

The premium console comes with a 60gb hard drive

The elite console comes with a 120gb hard drive and the console itself is black opposed to the normal white colour.

I don't believe there are any big differences although the hard drive is a key element of the console.

I personally would go for the premium console but it all depends on budget, will you use xbox live and therefore download on-line content?

There is also some issues with older consoles on backward compatibility with original xbox games to consider,

    Hope that helps.

    Dan.

    Just to add:

I forgot to mention but i believe there is a difference in the cables supplied with the consoles. The elite comes with the hd cable when i think the others come with the hd scart block, meaning if you were to use it through a HD Tv you would have to buy a Hdmi cable (I think) to get full Hd compatibility

Thanks for your help. The table chart is especially helpful too.
  • Any body any ideas where cheapest place to get Xbox 360 is, basic one it is for my 18 year old niece to buy her bf for xmas. Not sure if she would be better trying to hold out a couple of weeks with all sales etc that are going on.
    Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.
