Cheap Games Console deals discussion

PS3 bundles around at the moment at pretty rubbish aren't they? I think the PS3 must be in short supply so there's no incentive for anyone to discount.

I've seen deals at my local ASDA for PS3 consoles. A 40gb was £199 and 80gb was £200. Usually only about 2 consoles out on the shelf at that time with this deal and they go within a few days.

Anyone managed to purchase the Wii black at HMV.com for £149.99? This is my second day of trying. The site will not accept payment, looks like they may not have any stock bit still advertising offer.
This is a thing that I find Argos does quite often also Currys, advertising items, letting you place an order in the basket but seem unable to process a payment.

Be advised though that the 40 & 80Gb versions are the old style of PS3 - fatter, a lot noisier and drain a lot more electricity apparently, so keep that in mind if shopping for a PS3 - they are not all created equal
It's the 120Gb and 250Gb that are the new Slimline versions that are much better than the older versions.

I purchased this yesterday morning and this afternoon received an e0mail saying despatched. Hopefully it will arrive intact on Monday!

Zavvi.com have got the console for £224.95 with free delivery at the moment which, outside of a bundle, seems to be one of the better offers at the moment (if not the best).
