British Gas Overcharging

Beware of British Gas overcharging. Recently, I got a quote for a replacement combination boiler. The detailed quote includes the cost of the boiler, a Vaillant Eco Tec28k as £2,613.42. Contacting Vaillant the actual cost of the boiler is £1155. Britsh gas quote the price of the flue as £240, Vaillant say the list price is actually £85.50. I contacted British Gas for an explantion, I was told that the boiler would also be insulated! This was why there was a price difference. Clearly, British Gas marking up this item to a ridiculous level.

There are loads of posts about BG's high prices for boiler exchange. It seems that, as a rough rule of thumb, BG charge about double the price most Corgi fitters want.

I think what you mean is they are expensive, overcharging is when you charge more than they said. Its like buying any product or service you shop around and get the best pricce available.
