Sorry, but Liverpool are a club that attracts a lot of hangers on, and glory hunters from all over the world, so it is difficult to get tickets to see them.tudorfan22 wrote: »how do i get cheap liverpool tickets? my OH loves them and would be over the moon to see them - but it seems impossible to get tickets unless youre a season ticket holder or have been to a few matched and already got some loyalty points - how do i get loyalty points if i cant go to a game!!! catch 22!Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0 -

It's not that difficult......and the majority of their fan base is NW based, not like other top-flight clubs.
Best way to start is to join & get a Fan-Card.....then you get opportunities to buy tickets either online or over the phone. Also, don't go for tickets for matches with for example Chelsea, Everton, Man Utd etc, but try "lower" clubs like Birmingham, Stoke etc.
Put it this way, my OH has been to quite a few matches this season, inlcuding pre-season friendlies & Champions League games - and he isn't on the Priority Ticket Scheme & doesn't have a season ticket.
Good Luck!0 -
Another way to see rugby union for free is to join Sale Shark's "Swanny's Army" of volunteers.....they are at the ground for 2 hours before kick-off, showing people to seats, answering questions like "where's the toilet / bar / ticket office" etc.....and as thanks for their help they get a ticket for that match.

My Boss was always a spectator but now he's a motorsports world champion!
He just bagged the VW Fun Cup World Title, the other weekend.
Like lots of sports, motor racing is very easy to get into, and doesn't involve being a lifetime athlete or millionaire.
You can train, get your racing license, do warmup laps, qualify, take part in an actual race and see the chequered flag for less than the price of a Grand Prix hospitality package!
It's an incredible gift and moneysaver for someone who has wanted to try racing cars.
I thought it was boring til I went to my first race and the air is electric with high-speed pit-stops and everything!

To add to the "Watch your local football team", My son (11) has been a football fan but used to change his team with the wind.
As a Spurs fan, I told him the only way we would watch xyz team would be if they were playing Tottenham in one of the cups (usually a sure fire way to get cheaper tickets).
Since then, he decided to support MK Dons (our local team). This season already, we have been to 3 matches and have a 4th booked up.
Even League 1 football is expensive, but keep your eye out for local promotions.
Last week, we had an FA cup game which was adults for £15 and kids for a quid. Anywhere in the ground.
Next up, early December against S!!!!horpe, 4 tickets (of any type) for £20 (Did that beat the swear filter?)
Take your own food, there's an Asda next door etc. They genuinely don't care as long as you don't take Alcohol or glass in.
The only problem I have found so far with it is that the team shirts are only available in the club shop and they can't be bought discounted!!!The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

Go to the beautiful English game of Cricket. Most of the county games cost about a tenner for county championship and most one day games and are easy to get hold of and you just turn up on the day (look out of your window on a nice day) and you will get in pretty much for sure. And you can spend a whole day there too for a tenner, take your own food normally and booze often too, do a bit of reading, top up on suntan, chat to your mate. So much more time to breathe and enjoy the day than at football. Also the average IQ is higher in the crowd than football. 20/20 the new fad is a bit more expensive and harder to get in. For the normal county championship game you will have plenty of space to choose your seat, in fact you will probably be able to lie down and snooze when you have had too much drink and sun as there is plenty of room, in fact you might even have the whole row to yourself! Luxury!
Test matches cost 35+. But the tickets for the last day the 5th day of the test at your local test venue can be about 15 quid and easy to get hold of and often you can just get in on the day. As it is a Monday and people are never sure there will be play, they tend not to buy tickets in advance or book time off work, so easy to get in. Ok the game could be over by then but you will get a refund if you bought a ticket in advance, and if it does go to the last day you get to see some of the best players in the world (apart from the England players!), possibly for a full day (bear in mind the game could end early in the day though) and sometimes an amazingly exciting finish due to the wicket being inconsistent and taking spin by then.
At most county clubs a sesaon ticket will be probably about 130 quid, and you can spend about half your summer there for that (if you don't work!). Be prepared to be frustrated during rain breaks though.0 -
Maybe I am doing something wrong Barbarians game can only get £60 pp tickets and for the Race of Champions can only get £75 pp tickets

Give it another go - I just found the cheapest Barbars tickets (2x adults £30, 2x kids £15) with ease.
Will try ROC shortly. Worth buying for this event soon if you do want to go- there's likely to be some major news on this event in the next few days which will make it sell out. Can't say any more than that.
Sometimes allocations do sell out, then get replenished as more of the stadium gets opened up, so worth checking back if you only want to buy at a particular price point.

Hmm, MK Dons. Didn't they used to be somebody elses local team in another locality?newsgroup_monkey wrote: »To add to the "Watch your local football team", My son (11) has been a football fan but used to change his team with the wind.

Four weeks in to the national season for motor car racing in Britain and want to share lots of ways to save so it is easier to get to watch:
Most circuits have online book in advance offers on tickets - get on their mailing lists so you don't miss the dates. Circuits are owned by different people so you need to go to their own sites (such as motorsportvision.co.uk, knockhill.com) or the sites of the race series promoter (barc.net). Children under the age of 12 are allowed in free at some of the main circuits and races. Each one is different.
As someone said before volunteer to marshal, their website has just been revamped and looks great - marshals.co.uk
Get involved in other different ways through Go Motorsport! gomotorsport.net
Get your tickets cheaper through the members club YourRacingCar.com for some of the British Touring Car and F3 rounds. There is a joining fee of about £28 but that also gets you a cap, money off motorsport related stuff plus an adult ticket to Paradise Wildlife Park worth £11 (it is a great place, and also has a Speedway museum - so more motor stuff) and a visit to a cat sanctuary in Kent - and there is monthly prize draws.
Keep a look out for competitions in the motor racing magazines and weekly newspapers.
Depending on what car you own you may get an owners mag in the post with competitions in too.
Hope this helps you enjoy it as much as I do.:j0 -
Go and see some Banger Racing! It's brilliant. Sometimes they have special events like Robin Reliant banger racing, Big Van Bangers, or Caravan Banger racing. Do not confuse it with Stock Cars (which is only O.K-ish entertainment). Around the £12 mark to get in.Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0
