Thanks for signing, please make sure you confirm your signature in the email they send you.
I'm doing better at the moment. I'm just really trying to get as many people as I can to sign this petition and it's helping take my mind of things. It would be really nice if something positive could come out of losing her.0 -
so sorry to hear about Lexi - I have signed your petition too.0

I am so sorry for your loss lexi. I also lost a cat this way a few years ago, and was disgusted with the way the council dealt with the whole thing, and I support your petition 100%.
After loads of frantic phone calls, and knocking on countless doors, I finally found out that my beautiful little pure white boy (Casper) had been knocked over and killed and placed in somebodys front garden, and that they had phoned the council as they had no idea who he belonged to.
When I phoned the council I was put through to 'waste disposal' which really upset me to start with, then I was told that yes they had picked up a cat from that area, but they don't record colour or sex etc., and that the body had already been disposed of. I was distraught and disgusted that they couldn't even be bothered to make a note of the colour of an animal they collect, and the thought that he had been treated like any other piece of old rubbish haunted me for months.
I complained to the council, obviously, and also had an article written about it in my local paper which asked that the council show more compassion, and remember that although they are doing a neccesary job, they are also dealing with peoples loved and sorely missed pets. But to be honest I don't suppose it made any difference to the next person that it sadly happened to.
So lets hope that your petition helps save somebody else go through an even worse time than they have to when they lose a much loved pet.0 -
I have spent all day trying to reply to this off the pc downstairs, kept saying the message was too short  Anyway...
Thanks all for signing.
squidgeum. the beginning of your story in similar to mine. We knocked on everyones doors, delivering flyers. I honestly thought she was just stuck in someones garage or something. It was through these flyers we found out what had happened to her.
I complained to the council, twice, and still have heard nothing at all! Also wrote to the paper, heard nothing from them either! I don't think some people realise that to many pet owners, their animals are like family. We wouldn't let any other members of our family be treaten in the way so why should we allow it to happen to our animals.
Went to the rspca, there are two gorgeous little grey kittens there. Still not sure whether it would be fair to get another one, the road is so busy. Will have to keep thinking about that one.0 -
I've posted it through facebook so hopefully it'll get more than the 68 it has at the moment
Why not ask everyone you know to share it on facebook too? DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
I've already invited my friends, hoping they've invited theres too. I was looking at the group earlier and there was 500+ people who hadn't responded so hopefully some of them will join.
I just need to think of some ways to get people to see it. I've joined a pet forum and posted it on there. When I've got a bit of free time I'll try and find as many pet forums as I can and post it on those. Cat Protection are adding it to their staff site, which 7000 people can access so hopefully i'll get a few signatures from that. Once I can get a reasonable amount of signatures I'll get in touch with my local paper, don't want to do it yet as they won't take it seriously. Any other ideas are welcome.0 -
So Sorry to hear the loss of your cat,I have signed your Petition and will pass on to my friends on the internet too
