The Link, Carphone or P4U?

Options
These shops seem to be everywhere. I visit them frequently to check out the new mobs and deals. My present contract will end soon. All shops seem to offer similar deals - but who are most reliable in terms of chequebacks and customer service?

ive heard bad reports of all but from my own experience p4u seem to try the hardest in getting you money off printed price/freebies etc, you can negotiate with them more. every time i have been to the link they dont seem to know the specifications of their own phones and cpw never have any assistants in there to help you, but thats just my opinion.

  • I think we all have a moral duty to avoid Phones 4U after their recent advertising campaign.

I don't see an animated icon for the appropriate hand gesture.

(I have no commercial experience of CPW or P4U, but have done good business with The Link in recent years.)

Phones 4 U have been a complete nightmare for me 2 years running. The first year I was given bad and wrong advice. I am still owed £35 from that encounter but had my phones for the year from them. Went back to them 10 months later when they offered to buy the remainder of my contract and get a special money off deal and lost another £10 out of that because they only give back a max of £50. Also tried to go with Orange care for insurance but Orange told me as the phones werent branded I couldnt take thier insurance. Went back to shop and was given EXACT SAME insurance deal from Phones 4 U. Insurance was no where near the same and they wouldnt let me cancel or give back phones. Manager actually told me the 30 day money back offer wasnt valid for me but couldnt tell me why. 2 calls to trading standards and customer services and I got my phones returned.

Be warned. I think it might just be some Managers thinking they have a lot of power when in fact they dont. Both branches I tried were in Glasgow.

phones4u staff are on comission, and so will work alot harder to get you to part with your money, but apparently they are also more likely to do a deal by chucking in extras like cases etc if you haggle. Never tried though, just what I have read on other message boards. I do find their staff very pushy to get you to buy whenever I have gone into one
