What is an IPA

Just that really. I've been browsing the forums, and have been seeing this abbreviation many times, but I have no idea what it is.

Could somebody please enlighten me. It just seems like one more complication.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

    Good question.

Can people post any other abbreviations they use as well, as I sometimes get confused at them.
  • In what context? IPA is a brand of beer so people might use it by mistake when they mean IFA (Independent Financial Adviser) or IRA (a penion in the USA)

Ooh you've got me on that one!

I know IVA - Independent Voluntary Arrangement which is one way of paying off your debts so long as you are absolutely certain that you won't lose your job , get sick, get divorced, get a mortgage rate hike or have a baby during the next five years. ;):D
