If you are heading to the O2 arena, I would not worry too much about stopping near to it. Get the river bus there and stop nearer the center.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

www.ratestogo.com is the place I usually book hotels from. I stayed at the 'Landmark London' with my gf for her birthday present. £480 per room per night but thanks to that website I got it for £170 per room per night.
Thats a £310 saving. Fair enough I would never have paid £480 for it but still coutns as a £310 saving LOLThis is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
There is a holiday inn express near the O2, there is also an ibis in Greenwich.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Try www.totalstay.com
I'd agree with the poster who said about staying in the centre and getting the Thames clipper to the O2.
You can find out more about the Thames clipper here;

Well if staying out in Docklands, I can recommend the Marriott West India Quay as a hotel. To get a good deal though, Priceline is usually very good for this hotel. I believe it is the only 5* hotel in that area, so bidding on a 5* in Docklands will pretty much get you this property. I've had it a couple of times for £90 in the week when it is selling rooms at £300+ direct.
Laterooms is a decent site for getting an overview of prices on a date for rooms in an area. Travelzoo is worth a look to see if there are any special offers or packages available in London when you are travelling.
Basically if you do your homework across any or a number of the sites mentioned, then you will be able to get what you need with a bit of research.0
