    Hi sallen2

If it's anything like the 7mm fastfix laminate that they sell then I wish you luck. I fitted some for a customer last year and the click system that they use is not very good. The laminate doesn't hold together very well and kept coming apart. It took me twice as long to fit compared to a branded laminate.

ive used the cheap stuff from wickes & BQ. never had any real problems.
at half the price of other brands its worth the (sometimes) extra hassle.
    Get some gorm.

Completely agree with gardnt1, go with Quickstep. It will cost a bit more than the Wickes stuff but you will save a lot of time in the installation of it. The other brands of laminate flooring that I have used and would recommend are Pergo, Balterio, Moderna and Parador.

Rather than going to the big DIY sheds like Wickes, B&Q etc, try an independent flooring shop. They would be able to offer you much better advice as to what type of laminate you need depending on what room it is being laid in. They may let you take samples home so you can see whether the colour of the floor goes with the rest of the interior.

    Good luck!
  • Thickness doesnt really make much difference to the quality of the product overall, just gives it greater stability. 9mm is more than adequate - 7mm or less is too thin.

I agree Pergo or Quickstep are the two best on the market. Pergo is more durable, QS has a good click system. You can get either of these products for just a little more than the Wickes crud your thinking of buying!
  • I guess the 98 % out of 99 people who have used this laminate at £5 m2 and rated it at 5 stars must all be wrong!!!:rotfl:

why would they all say it was so good???
