Just got off the phone to India where after a frustating conversation, apparently Penny Mobile 2 is no longer an option. I was trying to get Primas Saver, they are now demanding an 18 month contract. Trouble is he didn't bother telling me this until after he had all my details. I told them absolutely no. They told me it would not go through. I'll be keeping an eyeout on my direct debits to make sure they don't try and collect.
Now where to go to get my evenings and weekends for free?

Post office gives evening and weekends free plus free calls to mobiles (and their top 20 international destinations) from friday evening right through to 0600 on Monday mornings.
No minimum term contract.0 -
Trouble is that would also mean moving my line to them which I am reluctant to do unless I can retrieve it without cost0

There is no minimum contract, you can move away at any time without any penalty.0

Thanks I think I may give them a go. I presume it matters not a jot to the Orchid dailer?0

Well.....it does.
You will need to alter your programme to take advantage of the extra weekend inclusive calls. (Some discussion recently about this in orchid thread)0 -
I've had a close look at their terms and conditions and they do not allow carrier preselection therefore I think because of that Orchid would be useless0

What cps would you want? They give you the free evening and weekend calls.0

I'm probably missing something (been known) but I was under the impression that the Orchid 400 (what I have just ordered) would automatically route your calls through the cheapest provider for the time of day. eg at night it would go through say Primus or in this case the post office as they are free and during the day through 18185. The Heinz programme being able to do this rather than having to programme it myself. However if the Post Office bar carrier preselection then I would not be able to go through 18185 during the day (or I am just plain wrong?)0

18185 isn't really cps. But the orchid dialler would still do this for you.0

Ah the penny has dropped (about 20 years after everybody else). If my telephone line was with BT and I moved my calls to Primus then they would be my cps. However if I went with the post office ( and I'm strongly considering it as their phone/broadband deal seems a good price) then I would not be allowed to have anybody else as cps but I would be able to use 18185 to effectively reroute the calls from the PO to 18185. The Orchid would do this automatically (presuming I had programmed it to do so or used the Heinz progamme)0
