Can someone confirm you have to write a letter to Vodafone to cancel your contract?
Options
I don't know if this something that's new but I rang Vodafone to cancel my contract and they said I have to give 30 days notice in writing to cancel which I found really annoying and means I have to pay for another months line rental
Can someone confirm that this is correct? Seems like a way to get squeeze another months line rental out of people.

If you phone up and ask for a PAC code the contract will end when the number transfer takes place. If you don't take your number with you then Voda will need cancellation in writing.
I cancelled my Voda contract over the phone, but I took my number with me.0 -
I recently cancelled and also had to put in writing giving 30 days notice. I then got 2 phone calls from head quarters trying to offer different deals to stay with them. Needless to say they weren't as good as some of the offers out there at tme moment.0

I sent an e-mail to cancel my contract.0

Ditto all of the above.
I asked for my PAC code, and was told that was sufficient to cancel the contract, but what I did upon receiving it,I also e.mailed them and told them I had received it,and was confirming the cancellation of the contract.
Also, don't forget to cancel your direct debit with the bank.
Never rely on any company you cancel a contract with,to cancel the direct debit on your behalf.Do it yourself for peace of mind.

I wrote to give notice to cancel my contract which is due to expire at the end of Jan 06. I asked them to confirm to me in writing that they had received my instructions, but surprise surprise, they havent. I wrote about 4 weeks ago.0

They tried to get me to put my cancellation request in writing too, but after a bit of persuasion said I could send an email instead. The address is customer.care@vodafone.co.uk.
Unfortunately all mobile contracts (that I've ever had, at least) require 30 days notice to cancel.0
