How would you know that someone is using your wireless? Does a pop up inform you or are you just presuming that they can? Just curious as I am wireless too. Would it cause the PC to go slower if someone was using it.....very MSE on their part though!
When I turn my laptop on it informs me of available wireless thingies available, but I would need to know their password to connect to their wireless.
If you see you wireless point flashing away then you know someone is accessing your connection - that's you first indication, next go into your wireless routers admin to see exactly how many are access your connection.
 As to securing it-
Step 1 - Password you wireless router
Step 2 - Restrict access to known users (MAC addresses)
Step 3 - Turn off announce the presence of wireless point to world0

I'd be raging if someone did that to me! :O
Tip: The info others have given will work, but as an extra, if you want you could call BT and see if they'll send out out a new Home Hub to replace your old Voyager router. It comes with WPA encryption enabled, out of the box.
Or you could get one off eBay for a tenner0

Oh yes Proxima i am not to chuffed at all and yes i will get partner to give bt a ring when he comes in and see if they will send us out a new home Hub it might work a little faster too maybe.
 Many thanks

Try this it will show you who is using your network http://www.lookatlan.com/0

I wouldn't want to waste any more time in preventing them from using your internet access. They could be doing anything, downloading child pornography, visiting other illegal websites and partaking in illegal activities and if/when they authorities caught up with it, the buck would stop with you as it's your connection. It would be difficult to prove otherwise that it was not you.0

HomeHub's have WEP by default and thanks to the rather poor security on them, there is a utility on the internet which will give you the default password from the SSID.
I guess the new ones are now shipping with WPA turned on instead?
WEP encryption is dead so don't use it. There are plenty of tools to bypass it in minutes.
If you use WPA, don't use dictionary passwords.
Turn off broadcasting your SSID and enable MAC filtering.
Neither of those will put off a determined hacker, but the vast majority of people out for free wireless will move on to the next easy target.
Unfortunately the providers of wireless points have to consider the flipside between ease of use therefore lack of security, verses heavy customer support and therefore a negative image of the product.0

It would be difficult to prove otherwise that it was not you.
There was a recent case in Germany where the defendant cliamed that his wireless point was unsecure and therefore anyone could have connected and used his service without permission. So if such a case was brought here and went as far as the EU level a UK defendant stands a good chance of winning.
Obviously you wouldn't want to test it tho 0 0

Again, extracted from the user guide:
 Hope that helps.MAC Address Control
MAC Address Control lets you specify exactly which wireless adapters are allowed to connect to your Voyager 2091 Wireless Network. Adapters not in the list will not be able to connect to the network.
To enable association control:- Click On in Allow mode or On in Deny mode
- Click View Access Control List
- Click Add to add a new wireless adapter to the list.
- In the MAC address of wireless adapter field, enter the Physical/MAC address of the new wireless adapter you wish to add. Make sure you type the address in the correct format shown in the example.
For Voyager Wireless adapters, the MAC address can be found by right-clicking the Wireless Utility icon then About...
For other manufacturer, see your adapter's user guide. The MAC address is usually printed on a label on the product or can be viewed using the software provided with the adapter.
- Click Apply
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for all wireless adapters you want to add to the list
- When you have included all necessary adapters in the list, click Close
- Click Apply

Basically all it's doing is letting you filter network devices by the hardware ID, which will help stopping the cheeky so-and-sos!Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0
