Fee for moving broadband

My ex has just moved house and wants to move his broadband connection. He is with Plusnet on a £9.99 month notice account. However when you arrange a move it costs £60.00 or apparently if you just cancel your broadband it is £20.00 ( a new BT charge!!) He does not really want to sign into a long contract as he may move again. Any ideas anyone?

Plusnet is BT owned! And "BT" currently don't charge their customers if they want to cease their connection - they have announced they will do so from next month, but only £18.51. Plusnet are profiting by making the charge of £20.

You can get broadband without a contract from Zen. they are pricier than most, but you get what you pay for service wise (and no fear of any early termination fees if you are likely to be moving).0 -
Plusnet were asked if they would stop making a profit on top of this £18.51 charge (they charge £20, and had previously said if ever BT were to reduce the charge they would drop also reduce theirs - "honestly").
Their reply - they will keep on profiteering as they like to have prices that end in "0".
You wouldn't believe it if it wasn't in writing:

have tried all sorts of Broadband companies but as he is moving to a smal rural village the exchange seems not to support most Broadband. However Plusnet seemd ok. Therefore as he is on a monthly contract would it be better for him to just ive one months notice and then re-start as a new customer. Seems better than paying £60.00!!!0
