On closer inspection, the top drawer doesn't quite close properly as the metal cover on the front of the top element is warped. Hopefully it will be OK for a couple of weeks! If it makes it through the weekend (I'm away) I can check it daily.

I'm getting very confused by freecycle. As with car boot sales, no one seems to want the stuff I would consider useful (plates, cutlery, dishes etc), but tealight holders and old candles... everyone's after them!

Can you straighten the cover up at all or even take it off? It might keep the door closed - if not, what about one of those child safety clip things that holds the door closed and stops 'little people' getting in them?

As for the freecycle stuff, what about putting it in batches? advertise it as a box of bootsale bits, with candles, etc in it and say it must all go as one?

  • major calamity here tonight.

DS brushed teeth and brushed out his wobbly tooth - straight down the sink! :rotfl: Then I had to stifle laughing and console a very upset boy. Was only his second tooth to loose.

I wrote an apology note to the Tooth Fairy signed DS's mum - will that do d'you think?

When I questioned DS about what the Tooth Fairy might leave - he suggested a chocolate coin, no mention of real £'s at all. Bless.

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

  • Moam We've had lost teeth, and letters of explanation to the tooth fairy. :D Essential.... as is the explanation that sometimes the tooth fairy is so busy, she sometimes runs late.... *ahem* :rotfl:

  • Hi everyone,

i've not caught up i'm afraid but have managed to do 1 wedding job a day, i'll get there eventually :rotfl:

Monday - updated my list & started the 'order of the day'
Tuesday - sorted out the balloons (including arguing with the lady in the shop cos she couldn't find my order  )
Wednesday - rang the registrar to check how much we owe & who the cheque is payable to.

I've also finished my 'orders of the day' (not orders of service) can you tell me what you think please, i know it's not the wedding board but i don't know anyone over there, hope you don't mind :o
    Order of the Day

    4.00pm Wedding Ceremony

    4.30pm Photographs

We will be taking photographs in the Hesketh Suite (on the 2nd floor) for between ½ and 1 hour depending on how fast people smile for us! There are several bars open during this time.
v Knights Cocktail Bar (on the 1st floor)
v Barons Bar (for traditional ales)
    v Maloneys Bar (for cocktails)

    5.30pm Barker Suite

v Time for a glass of bubbly, Kirsty will be proposing the toast so please don’t talk over her!
v No speeches remember ... but we’ll cut the cake so another picture to be taken!

    6.00pm Buffet & Disco

Food first (everyone knows what my priorities are!) with wedding cake for desert followed by lots and lots of dancing.

    12midnight
v If you’ve made it this far well done! The disco will finish & the bar will close.
v If you are staying in the hotel then the residents bar will be open.

    Photographs

There are disposable cameras on the tables in the Barker Suite, please use them and leave them on the tables at the end of the night so we can get the pictures developed. If you have your own camera with you then we’d really appreciate a copy of any photos you take so we have lots to choose from when compiling our wedding album. You can email them to us at

    all coments welcome :p
off to sort out some fireworks & get something out the freezer for tea will check back later,
    Lou x

No speeches.....????? I love a good speech me. Just not too many and not too long.... I went to a wedding recently where everyone was reduced to tears by the speeches. Proper emotional. *sniff*

Other than that, it sounds like the perfect day.

PS.... I know most people don't like speeches, and, to each their own honey... take no serious notice of me!! :D
