Just posting having been another watching rememberance service only this time I am thinking of someone who died recently who I knew - it was someone who i knew 20 years ago and who I went out with for a short time we went our seperate ways and passed over time but never really spoke again, now wishing we had spoken and not ignored each other for a trivial matter. have always marked rememberance day before just not known someone who has been lost defending us before and finding this year especially hard.
  • Thoughts for any and all who need them at this time of year,

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Kaz - hugs from me too
Summer - glad you're getting there and are back on line! Remember, please, you won't have a 'home' for a while so don't do too much all at once.

With the remembrance thing - I'm working with Military at the moment and we have a drum head service on the 11th - so that will be my tribute. I attended the drum head last year and it's v. v. moving. Having lost someone I knew in Afghanistan earlier this year it'll be doubly poignant.

But enough of that. I'm three quarters through the reweaving of the little foot stool cover but have stopped because my fingers are beginning to bleed a bit from the rubbing of the sisal through all the weaving in and out. I will finish it tomorrow though.

DS has already dug out the other little footstool we have which is seated with a screwed on piece of wood rather than properly weaved sisal and has said I should do that next... I suppose I should be grateful that he's removed the screws holding on the wooden seat...

thanks guys for all your lovely support - I should do more for myself, I guess i do it all because I feel guilty for working full time and I'm not there for them before or after school. I did have a treat today though as I bought a new handbag (although I told the kids I wanted the money and they can give it to me for Christmas :o ) and 4 new underwear sets which is a little luxury for me. And pigpen one of these days I will drive up for coffee, when I was BC (before children) I used to drive over to see my friend in Birmingham for a morning  . Maybe not his week :rotfl:

I'm off to bed now and OH is at work so peaceful night.

Oops need to clear away tea things but at least the finances are done

    Love you all x

  • Hugs to you jjeff. It always makes it harder if there is someone you know. By name, I always think of one of hubby's friends who was killed in the Hyde Park bombings which was the year we married. DD now has friends serving in Afghanistan that I know as she went to school with them.

This time I am going to bed. Night all and sleep well! x

I too saw some of the remembrance programme, and I am ashamed for feeling the way I did. Thank you for discussing it on here. There are people who died fighting for this country and the rights to have what we do and I am lucky to be where I am with what I have. Hugs to all those of you who have lost loved ones to help me get where I am today.

Habe had a really lazy day - I never really do housework cos I like to have 1 day a week when I can relax without feeling guilty.

But I have managed to keep the kitchen tidy and pots washed, and the WM has been on so it has not been a totally workshy day.

Off to bed now - hope everyone has a peaceful night, and gets plenty of sleep. I think there are one or two who need rest and recuperation, so ((hugs)) to you all.

Hugs to you all and strength for tomorrow for wearing our poppies means different things to all of us but is a sign of our combined rememberance.

 I can't sleep, driving me mad as I know I have an early start tomorrow, DP has even said we might make a start on the boys hornby train track table thing (want it on a movable table, only been asking him since Christmas to make it!!)

Going to watch last nights corrie then try again....

Edited somewhere around 4am, wonder if anyone gets up before I manage to get to sleep....
