Free Playstation 3 with AOL broadband package at the Carphone Warehouse

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so if I've missed anything out please let me know:huh:

I have just signed up for aol broadband in the carphone warehouse. It's a two year contract at £19.99 a month for 40gb. There are two other packages avalible £22.49 a month with free weekend and evening calls and £24.99 for anytime free calls (local and national rate). With this package you also get a free playstation 3, which is brilliant as my other half really wanted one for christmas:xmassmile You do need a BT line to be eligable for this offer. There is a delivery charge of £14.99 as the Playstation arrives in around 28 days.

You can find out more on the carphone warehouse website.

I hope this helps someone!!

  • ps3 = £300
    24x £20 = £480
    480-300=180/24=7.50
    £7.50/month is a pretty good price for broadband....ah.....it's CPW.....oh...

    :)

  • oh no, that doesn't sound good!! Have you had problems with them? It's just that I do have a week to cancel! Are they really awful?

    Thanks

  • sky offer, for some, cheaper or free bband, o2 offer a similar price, both are 12 month contracts and a reputedly fantastic service.
AOL has a poor reputation, which it may not deserve, but looks likely to.

We've been having nightmare connection problems with AOL over the last couple of months. Wasted my weekend trying to sort out the problems. Great when it works but it's aged me greatly.
  • Well, we have had our aol line on since monday and not one day has passed when we haven't had some sort of issue. Firstly they forgot to send the modem out, we did not recieve this until thursday. As we already had an old modem that we could use until the new one arrived I called them to get our username and password so that we could connect to broadband. To start with they would not give me the information and told me I had to wait until their modem arrived, on the fourth call after threatening to cancel they finally let me have the info. When the modem did arrive we hooked everthing up only to have loads of connection problems, on thursday we had intermittent connection and on friday no connection at all. Most of thursday and friday was spent on the phone to their awful customer service department, who, when they got stuck said that they would call us back with an answer (never did) or on one occasion email us instructions of what to do to fix the problem (which we never recieved).
The ps3 sounded like such an amazing free gift (I know I was suckered in) but I cannot put up with being an aol customer for 2 years and have now cancelled my contract and will be saving up my pennies for a ps3, I should have listened to you tonyhague!!

You could get O2 Broadband for £7.50 per month and only be tied for 12 months.

I dont know for sure but you could probably get interest free credit on a ps3 at one of the large retailers.

At least that why you wouldn't be stuck in a 2 year contract with AOHell.
    Waddle you do eh?

Aol has improved .You don't need to use their software anymore and i think that is a good deal.
